The name of this organization shall be the Marysville Unified Teachers Association/CTA/NEA, in Yuba County.
The primary purposes of this Association shall be:
1. to represent its members in formulating Association policies and to take responsibility for informing members of those policies.
2. to represent its members in their relations with their employer and to seek to be the exclusive representative of appropriate units of school employees in all matters relating to employment conditions and employer-employee relations including, but not limited to, wages, hours, and other terms and conditions of employment.
3. to provide an opportunity for continuous study and action on the problems of the profession.
4. to promote professional attitudes and ethical conduct among members.
5. to furnish the means at the local level whereby the individual member may participate in the initiation and development of policy for the Association.
6. to furnish lines of communication between the Association and its members.
7. to make more readily available to members the services of the Association.
8. to encourage cooperation and communication between the professional and the community.
9. to raise the standards of the teaching profession.
10. to foster good fellowship.
11. to foster harmonious relationships with teachers of all levels and all sites.
12. to provide a means of representation for its ethnic-minority members.
Section 1: The Marysville Unified Teachers Association/CTA/NEA shall be a chartered member of the California Teachers Association.
Section 2: The Marysville Unified Teachers Association/CTA/NEA shall be an affiliated local association of the National Education Association.
Section 1: All certificated personnel employed in the Marysville Joint Unified School District may become members of MUTA/CTA/NEA (except any person who is currently serving in a management position for the Marysville Joint Unified School District).
